A Golden’s Happy Moments – Trixie & Cleo in Snowy Vagnhärad

Welcome to snowy Vagnhärad! We have been back in the small locality of Vagnhärad for a few days now while visiting my parents. This does of course also include spending some time with my parents’ two Golden Retrievers – Trixie and Cleo. As I have mentioned earlier, six-year-old Trixie gave birth to her one and only pup last year when Cleo joined the family. Cleo is now seven years old and of course, she has a lot of energy. She is happy to get out and play, even at times like these when most of us would prefer to hide inside our homes instead of getting cold.

Snowy Vagnhärad

It’s time for a bit of explanation. Some winters we barely get any snow in this part of Sweden and some winters we get plenty. This winter has only had limited snowfall. However, that changed this week. Yes, we have now plenty of snow. It was actually snowing most of the past Thursday and yesterday many of us spent hours to make sure we could even get our cars out of the parking lots. We currently have over 20 centimeters of snow in many areas and the temperatures are far below zero degrees Celsius.

For Trixie and Cleo this has meant a different kind of playground. Especially for Cleo who has never seen this much snow before these are exciting times. The temperature means limited time outdoors, but we still made sure to get some photos during one of our walks.

What will follow now is several of the photos from today. All photos are unedited and we will let you enjoy these without any further comments.

Golden Retreivers are treasures of dogs, they love water in all its forms, including snow 🙂 Have had 3 Goldens in my life. At this moment not a dog anymore.

That is so true and especially when they get to work/play at the same time. 🙂

I grew up with dogs, but it was first once I had moved away from home that my parents got Trixie, their first Golden Retriever. I would love to get one myself, but it is hard to combine with our love for traveling. I can imagine that you miss them all. 🙂

  2. They are beautiful, playful and cheerful. My Labrador Luna also loves to play in the snow.

      They are indeed 🙂

I can imagine that it is equally hard not to smile while Luna is playing in the snow 🙂
