Ohrid St. Paul the Apostle Airport (OHD) is the second international airport. It serves the southwestern region. It primarily handles charter flights and seasonal routes.
By Sea: As a landlocked country, North Macedonia has no direct sea access. Travelers cannot arrive via international sea ferries. However, its major rivers connect to the Aegean Sea via Greece. There are no passenger services for international entry this way. Travelers wishing to arrive by sea typically use ports in neighboring countries. These include ports in Greece (Thessaloniki) or Albania (Durrës). From there, the journey continues by land into North Macedonia.
By Land: North Macedonia is well-connected to its neighbors by road and rail. By Bus: International bus services are very popular. They connect Skopje and other major cities. Routes extend to Belgrade, Sofia, Tirana, Pristina, and other European cities. These services are often comfortable and affordable. By Car: Road networks link North Macedonia to its surrounding countries. Major border crossings are generally efficient. These include Tabanovce (Serbia), Deve Bair (Bulgaria), and Evzoni (Greece). By Train: International train services are limited. A scenic route connects Skopje to Belgrade, Serbia. Another train line links Skopje to Thessaloniki, Greece. Most cross-border land travel is by bus or private car.
