Wednesday Thoughts

It’s Wednesday and time for some stories from the kitchen. This will probably be one of those random posts with little sense, but I will try to stick to travelling, since this is what this blog is about.

So, hello. How are you on this Wednesday?

I’m here in the kitchen, sipping on black tea and looking forward to having a bath. And to the weekend. I’m going for a short trip, so that’ll definitely be fun. Today is Wednesday. There are people who dislike Mondays, I don’t like Wednesdays. They are somehow so very meh. To keep my mind off the fact that this is (only) the third day of the week, I decided to plan ahead a little bit. So, I bought a couple of e-books for our upcoming trip. I have mentioned it before, but would like to say it again, digital books really come in handy when travelling.

Wednesday Thoughts

Another thing that I’d like to talk about it something that I have learnt quite recently; one should only do one thing at a time. Really. It’s a lot more difficult than it sounds. I noticed that I’m not as efficient as I’d like to be and that my life was getting stressful, so I started to take notes and look for improvements. I noticed that I was trying to do way too many things at once. Usually we admire people who know how to multitask, but maybe we should admire those who are able focus so strongly on one thing and one thing only that the world around them ceases to exist. In order to do one thing at a time, one must stay tough. Say no to people who want things to be done right away (unless it’s very urgent!), hide your phone, don’t open your e-mail. Doing one thing at a time helps immensely when planning – a trip, for instance. Write a checklist and follow your points. Now I have bought my e-books, and the next step is planning what to pack, do some research on our destination, and so on.
