How About a Romantic Trip to Minsk?

Hello, fellow travelers, we need your help! Now that we survived our grand European road trip, it’s time to look for new adventures. We are thinking a romantic trip here. You know, time alone and pampering ourselves, three-course dinners, why not a trip to the spa and beautiful surroundings. Preferably, it should be somewhere we haven’t been before, reasonably priced, and somewhat off the beaten track.

So, tell us what do you think? Where should we go on a romantic trip?

Here are our options so far. And yes. I’m aware of the fact that some people wouldn’t consider these destinations particularly romantic. But hey, you can always go to Paris but that’s where everybody else also goes. Let’s be a bit odd, shall we?

Minsk, Belarus

A romantic trip to Belarus? Maybe not on everybody’s list, but… Well, why not. There is no need for a visa at the moment, so we might as well grab the chance. This city is not on the way to anywhere else, so we’d have to make it a destination of its own. I know very little about the town, so here would be the perfect opportunity to learn more. It would be an adventure for sure! But the question remains: is it romantic enough? Hard to say. I imagine gray buildings from the Soviet era and sad people. I hope I’m wrong, though.

Cluj-Napoca, Romania

Lying in the heart of Transylvania, Cluj is the second city of Romania. If you google it, you’ll see big domes and cobblestoned streets. I believe Romania would be a really interesting destination, and as we’re talking about a fairly big city, I’m sure there would be plenty of things to do.

Podgorica, Montenegro

Podgorica is the capital of up-and-coming Montenegro. I’d love to go there and I know they have great wine. Vranac is one of our favorite grapes! However, the city itself feels a bit meh. Of course, there is a chance I’m wrong. And I don’t think we’d have enough time to explore the rest of the country very much.

We will see where we end up. Who knows, our final destination might turn out to be a completely different one. Which one would you choose of these three?

Happy Travels!
