Kroer, Follo – Exploring Norway

Kroer is a small village within Ås Municipality in Southern Norway. The village lies within the traditional region of Follo. This area was earlier a part of the Akershus County, but is today a part of the new Viken County.


A Short History of Kroer

The parish church in Kroer, in the vicinity of which the local settlement has developed. The first church is believed to have been built here in the Middle Ages, but its existens has not been fully proven. A timber church was later built here and it was replaced in 1852 by a new timber church. The third church was devestated by a fire and the current church was built in its place in 1925.


Things to Do and See

The church is without much competition the most prominent builtind around here. But there is one thing that is an even more impressive sight and that is the view out over the sorrounding fields. Seeing how the roads goes in waves accross the fields, taking the path of least resistence. The farming landscape and sorrouding nature will never be far away.

Kroer Church

Kroer Church is the local church that was built in 1925. The current church is beleived to be the forth to have been built at this location with the first one to have been built in the 14th century. This wooden church can house 120 visitors and is a part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Norway.
