About Härjedalen

Härjedalen is a province along the Swedish border with Norway, actually being a part of Norway until the Treaty of Brömsebro in 1645. It is a mountainous region in Sweden, with several popular ski resorts.

The population is only around 10.000 and there are no larger settlements with Sveg being the largest with around 2.500 inhabitants.

Largest City: Sveg
Province Flower: “Mosippa” and “Fjällviol”, arctic violet (Pulsatilla vernalis) and alpine yellow-violet (Viola biflora)
Province Animal: Brown bear
