A Short History of Läppe

Läppe was actually for a long time two small settlements on each side of the border between two municipalities and two counties. A settlement was defined by Statistics Sweden in 1990 in the western part of the locality and it gained the name Läppe. A second settlement, this time in the east, was defined in 1995. It was also in 1995 that the western settlement was transferred from Örebro Municipality to Vingåker Municipality. Both the eastern and western parts shared the name Läppe and they together were classified as a locality in 2015 when the shared population exceeded 200 inhabitants.

Things to Do and See

It is Lake Hjälmaren that is the main attraction in this part of Sweden.
