Sigurdsristningen, Södermanland – Exploring Sweden
Sigurdsristningen is a large rune inscription on a rock just south of the locality of Sundbyholm in Eskilstuna Municipality. This is the province of Södermanland in eastern Sweden, a province known for its many rune stones and remains from the Viking Age.

Sigurdsristningen
A large rockface is covered by this large rune inscription. It includes both runes, but also several figures depicting animals and other creatures. It is a scene from the sagas of Sigurd. The runes tell of Sigrid who built the bridge in memory of Holmger. More stones in Sweden are believed to tell about these people.
Sigrids Bro
The Bridge of Sigrid is supposed to have connected the two sides of a waterway here. It is estimated that it was 60 meters between the shores and the rune inscription here probably tells of this bridge. The mounting construction on both sides is still visible with the piles of rock unmoved.
