Find Your Way

Ferries are the most common way to arrive in the Åland Islands. Major ferry companies, like Viking Line and Tallink Silja Line, operate large vessels. They depart frequently from Stockholm, Sweden, and from Turku or Helsinki, Finland. Shorter car ferries also connect from Kapellskär or Grisslehamn in Sweden to Långnäs or Eckerö on Åland. You can fly to Mariehamn Airport (MHQ) with direct flights from Stockholm or Helsinki. Driving is convenient; from Mariehamn, it’s about 9-10 kilometers to a designated parking area near the hill, followed by a walk. Local buses also run from Mariehamn into the Jomala area. You would disembark at a nearby stop and then walk the remaining distance to Ingbyberget.
