We might originally be born and raised in Sweden and Finland, but Slovakia is a special country for us. This is the country where we met, where we got together and where we eventually got engaged. We lived in the capital Bratislava for around a year and a half before moving to Sweden. We do, however, return from time to time and always look for a new possible visit.
Slovakia has a lot to offer, historical sights are mixed with the natural wonders of the Tatra Mountains. The country has only been independent for 25 years, but its history is rich from the times being a part of the Kingdom of Hungary and the Czechoslovak Republic. Several towns have the grandiose buildings from the past mixed with the concrete blocks from the Communist era.
